The solution to swelling:
We love calls made from wood, they look great, have a natural tone and remain true to the legacy of waterfowling. But not every wooden duck call performs in the extreme elements waterfowlers face. Add some spit, water, weather and the wooden soundboard swells, the reed sticks, the call squeals and you say good-bye greenheads.
Acrylic duck calls solve this problem because they do not swell with moisture. The dilemma is the choice, wood or acrylic or a lazy combination of a wood barrel and an acrylic insert.
We have the solution to this dilemma. All acrylic guts that give you the reliability you deserve without giving up the rugged looks of a wood call. More interestingly, the sound of a Stackin' Bills call has the crispness expected from acrylic mixed with a more natural tone from the wood exterior. It truly is the best of both worlds.
The solution to sticking:

Sticking reeds happen, even the greatest callers in the world have experienced this phenomenon. When the reed sticks, it either snaps shut and doesn't make any noise or, even worse, it makes an awful and unnatural squealing noise that can make a grown man cry.
Soundboard geometry can mitigate this to an extent but it cannot eliminate it without sacrificing the range of sounds the call can produce. Our calls come with spit grooves, we didn't invent them but we believe in them and they absolutely do help with sticking reeds. Look on either side of the soundboard under the reed and you will find two milled channels. This prevents reed sticking by reducing the surface contact area between the reed and soundboard without sacrificing the range of the call.
Daily bags not little bags:
The only bags we care about are daily bags. Everyone else gives you a little bag with their call. What is it for? We've never seen anyone pull their call out of a little bag before a hunt. We hang our calls around our neck, with easy access when the flocks come down. That's why we provide a single lanyard leash with every call purchase. Add our call to your lanyard without retiring any of your other calls. We get it, we aren't the only dogs on the block.
